Set these once at Main Menu → Settings → Game Settings and they carry into every game.
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Passing type | Placement & Accuracy | Most ball control; classic/revamped are worse. Competitive/online default |
| Passing type (offline sim) | Revamped | Eric: better trajectory and touch for dynasty/RTG — if you use it, set reticle speed ~15 |
| Pass lead increase | Small | Helps vs man coverage (both passing types) |
| Reticle speed | 7 | Fast enough without overshooting; the usable range is 5–12 |
| Vertical/meter visibility | User only | Don't show your opponent your throws |
| AI WR for user teams | On | Covers you when you forget a catch input |
| Timing catch min distance (offense) | 10–20 yds | Off by default — you must turn it on. Never 0/5: the meter moves fastest up close and you drop easy dump-offs |
| Timing catch min distance (defense) | 10 yds (or Off) | Greens are harder on D — turn off if you're dropping picks |
| Timing catch UI feedback | On (or feedback only) |
FORM's helpers:
⚠️ Timing-based catching was nerfed on July 24 (Title Update 2.5 live tuning). Coverage defenders now shrink the green window, "mainly when covered and smothered" (EA's own wording). Uncontested or big height-mismatch one-on-ones still green about as easily; contested and double-covered balls are much harder. Eric's verdict post-patch: "it's really not that good anymore" — he keeps it at 20 yds purely for the occasional deep shot. EA has said further tuning is coming. The old tap-don't-hold auto-green exploit is dead as a reliable tactic. See Patch Tracker.
